In Primary School, children build the foundations for a life of learning, curiosity and character development. Alongside academic growth, they develop essential life skills.
Learning a world language
English is the main language of learning and communication at school, supporting natural language immersion throughout the school day. Students develop listening, speaking, reading and writing in a balanced way through active methodologies such as Talk for Writing (T4W), which strengthens creativity and written expression.
This approach enables them to communicate with confidence, achieve an excellent academic level and thrive in international contexts.
Enhancing logical thinking
Maths is taught through a practical, skills-based approach that encourages students to understand concepts before applying them. Through problem-solving, mental arithmetic, number work, geometry and focused practice of times tables, students develop logical reasoning and analytical skills.
Hands-on activities and tailored challenges support independence, confidence and the application of mathematics in everyday situations.
Strengthening language skills
Castellano language lessons help students develop effective communication, both spoken and written, while strengthening reading comprehension, expression, spelling and grammar.
Through a variety of texts, projects and participatory activities, students broaden their vocabulary, improve their ability to build arguments and develop critical thinking. A love of reading and writing is also encouraged as an essential tool for learning and life.
Exploring through experimentation

The subject supports critical thinking, problem-solving and an understanding of the phenomena around them, inspiring an interest in science from an early age.
Discovering the world around us
This subject helps students understand their natural, social, geographical and historical environment from a perspective that is both global and close to home. Through interdisciplinary activities, research and collaborative projects, students discover how society works, learn about different cultures and develop a responsible attitude towards the environment.
Learning continually connects content with real-life situations, supporting a meaningful understanding of the world.
Freeing the inner self
Art nurtures creativity, imagination and personal expression through artistic projects adapted to each age group. Students experiment with different materials, techniques and visual languages while developing observation, aesthetic awareness and confidence in their own creations.
Artistic work also encourages originality, creative problem-solving and connections with other areas of the curriculum.
Building digital literacy
Information and Communication Technology is part of daily learning, preparing students to navigate a digital environment safely and confidently. Using iPads, Chromebooks and a range of educational applications, students develop digital skills, basic programming and computational thinking.
They also learn to use technology responsibly, creatively and critically as a tool for research, collaboration and problem-solving.
Expressing through sounds
Music supports artistic, emotional and cognitive development through performance, creation and active listening. Students discover different musical styles while learning theory, rhythm and musical language through instruments such as the ukulele and percussion.
This subject stimulates memory, concentration, creativity and teamwork, while also strengthening students’ confidence in expressing themselves in front of others.
Becoming global citizens
From Year 5, students broaden their international profile by learning a third language, choosing from French, German or Chinese. Lessons prioritise communication in real-life situations and the balanced development of the four language skills.
At the same time, students discover new cultures, expand their view of the world and strengthen intercultural skills that enrich both their academic and personal development.
Staying fit
Physical Education promotes overall wellbeing through sports activities adapted to each stage of development. Students improve their coordination, stamina, balance and motor skills while learning values such as effort, respect, cooperation and fair play.
Swimming is part of the programme, contributing to physical development, independence and water safety as part of an active, healthy lifestyle.
Ensuring wellbeing
Personal and emotional development holds an important place within the curriculum. Through PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) sessions and Golden Time, students work on skills such as empathy, self-esteem, emotional management, positive relationships and responsible decision-making.
These spaces support wellbeing, strengthen interpersonal relationships and help create a positive environment where every student can grow with confidence.
Strengthening cultural roots
Learning Valenciano enables students to develop linguistic competence in the co-official language of the Valencian Community, in both spoken and written expression. Through dynamic activities, reading, projects and real communication situations, students gain fluency and confidence while discovering the cultural and linguistic heritage of their surroundings.
This learning strengthens the multilingual approach that characterises the school.

School begins
9.30am – 11.10am Lessons begin with new learning opportunities that spark curiosity and encourage critical thinking.
Break and snack
11.10am – 11.30amAn opportunity to recharge with a healthy snack and spend time with friends.
More learning
11.30am – 12.50pm After the break, students immerse themselves in exciting project work.
Lunchtime
12.50pm – 1.50pm Students enjoy a varied selection of healthy, nutritious meals, with menus adapted to their nutritional needs and allergies or intolerances.
Afternoon lessons
1.50pm – 3.30pm After lunch, students return to class for engaging afternoon lessons.
TEAM project
3.30pm – 4pm horas A dynamic and essential space for holistic development. The TEAM project is designed to inspire imagination and creative skills through both free and structured play.
Library and reading
4pm – 4.30pm Students visit the library to discover the many adventures waiting for them in the pages of books.
End of the day
4.30pm After a day full of learning, students finish at 16:30.

At BSVR, language immersion is an essential part of Primary education. Students learn in a truly bilingual environment, with English and Spanish as languages of instruction, and gradually incorporate additional languages such as French, German or Chinese.
This constant exposure, within a community representing more than 39 nationalities, enables them to communicate with confidence and develop a global mindset from an early age.
The library is a space where students develop reading habits, research skills and independent learning. Through books suited to their interests and information-gathering projects, they strengthen reading comprehension, enrich their vocabulary and stimulate their imagination.
They also discover the joy of reading as a valuable tool that will support them throughout their academic and personal lives.
Topic-based learning
Topic-based learning connects different subjects through a central theme, creating a more meaningful interdisciplinary learning experience. Students investigate, experiment, work as a team and apply knowledge from different perspectives to gain a deeper understanding of each project.
This approach develops critical thinking, creativity, communication and the ability to make natural connections between concepts.
Tutoring
Tutoring provides a dedicated space where students reflect, share experiences and celebrate the achievements they have reached as a group. Through dialogue and active participation, they develop communication skills, learn to listen to different opinions and strengthen values such as respect, responsibility and collaboration.
